MEAN GIRLS NEED A HONEY LESSON
Television, the music industry, and everything we see and hear is becoming more and more unholy, ungodly, and unbelievable. Last night on the Bachelor, at the end of the show, a swear word was spoken and not bleeped out.
I have now drawn a line in the sand and decided that the show has become too trashy to watch. Actually it's been too trashy for a while now, but I couldn't let it go. The way those girls talk meanly about each other is no example for our daughters. Some of the girls talk about hurting each other and bringing down the competition. This kind of behavior is then repeated by girls who watch the show and think it's okay to fight over a guy and do whatever it takes to reduce the competition, even if it means hurting someone.
There is one good lesson for those who watch The Bachelor. Every season, except for Ben's season, you see the mean girls going home one by one. And the girl who was kind, the girl who didn't say mean things about the others is the girl who is chosen. The lesson is that you can catch a fly (guy) with honey. There's no need to do anything more than be sweet and wait. The competition will self destruct on its own.

THE LIE THAT LEADS TO SORROW
The lie this man talks about is the very same lie that I talk about in my present speech, Cultural Lies or Biblical Truth, What's a Girl to Believe? Girls today have a very selfish, materialistic view of life. I heard one girl say recently that she wants to enjoy being married before she has children, as if children are some kind of curse.
I've been a career woman and there has not been a single moment in my career that even comes close to the joy and satisfaction I got from being a mother. Homemakers and stay-at-home moms have come under attack in this culture. They are seen as lazy and living privileged lives.
Anyone who criticizes a homemaker or stay-at-home mom better not claim to be a Christian. I have the scripture to put them in their place. The roles of wife and mother are roles assigned to women by God. A career is fine for a woman before she has children. But a culture that glorifies career over motherhood and homemaking is a culture that doesn't know or live by God's word. - Danelle

CAN'T SEE THE PLAN

NOTHING MORE ENDEARING THAN A REAL WOMAN
I love Lysa Terkeurst because she's not afraid to be real. She tells you when she's a mess. She's open about her struggles and she doesn't pretend to be perfect. Women like that rock my world.
I adore that kind of "lay it all out there" attitude. To me there's nothing more endearing about a woman than her ability to be real. Too many women pretend that they are perfect, pretend their children are perfect, their lives are perfect and they do no wrong and have no problems. The only one they're fooling is themselves.

BVO MAKES YOU SICK
The New York Times reports that around 10 percent of drinks sold in the

On this blog, I have criticised President Obama countless times, but I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been praying for him. Righteous indignation means I have the right to question the president and I will continue to do so. But pointing out faults does nothing to change a situation. Only prayer can change things.
I was reminded recently that Christians are instructed in the Bible to pray for those in positions of authority. Charles Stanley offers these tips for praying for our President. Will you join me in taking these requests before the Lord in prayer.
We should ask that President Obama will...
1. Realize that he has been given that position by God
2. Recognize his personal inadequacy for the task and look to God for wisdom
3. Restore dignity, honor, trustworthiness, and righteousness to the presidency.
4. Forsake his political career and his personal ambitions if doing so would be in the best interest of the country.
5. Reverse the destructive trends of atheism, and humanism that try to dethrone God, deify man, and lead to an ungodly society.
6. Respect and obey the Constitution- the protector of our freedoms.
7. Reject all counsel that weakens our defenses against aggressors or endorses agreements that would do so in the future.
8. Refuse to promote a way of life in which citizens become increasingly dependent on the government for their needs.
9. Remember that he is accountable to Almighty God for his attitudes, motives, behaviors, and decisions.
10. Resolve to help the nation again become a place of creativity, security, national pride, and individual prosperity, where God is recognized as the Source of all our blessings.

Is Facebook envy making you miserable?
Here's an interesting article about how Facebook affects some people. I can understand why people might become envious and depressed at seeing the achievements and good fortune of their friends on Facebook, but if you really are a friend, shouldn't you be happy for that person who went on vacation, or that person who got so many birthday wishes?
On the other hand, Facebook can promote a narcissistic, all about me, platform where we can all have our 15 minutes of fame. Maybe it gives us a taste of celebrity when so many people "like" us. I've even heard people brag about how many friends they have.
I think it all comes down to having the right perspective about Facebook. If you see it as some kind of lifeline that you couldn't live without, then maybe you need to get out more. If you get depressed because your Facebook friends seem to have happier lives, then maybe you need to pin your self worth to something more meaningful than physical attractiveness, vacations, and birthday wishes.

SLOW SUFFOCATION (WATCH VIDEO)
I discovered this article and video last week, but didn't post it because it sounded too crazy to be true. Today I decided to post it anyway and let you decide. This really isn't so crazy considering the recent gun control push by Obama so soon after the Sandy Hook shootings. Things are changing very quickly in America and the changes are hitting hard and fast.
I no longer think that martial law in America is a fear mongering mindset. SUFFERING, BUT HOPEFUL
Many people are suffering. So I'd like to talk about the trials of life and how we can deal with them. For the past year, I have felt as though I'm being beaten down. Just when I think that I'm healing from one ailment, another physical problem bears down on me. Right now I'm dealing with tingling in my legs that won't let me sleep. It's related to a back and neck injury.
I'm told that any injuries to the spine and neck can cause all kinds of problems with the nervous system. I'm dealing with leg cramps and an annoying tingling that feels like water running through my legs or tiny pin pricks. I've had insomnia for six years, so this sensation in my legs makes sleep even more impossible.
Needless to say, I am discouraged. It would be very easy for me to give up on this blog and all that I'm doing to lead people to Christ. I may have to slow down, but as long as God gives me the strength, I'll keep plugging away.
There are times that God chooses to heal us. Sometimes he does remove our physical infirmities. But he also, at times, chooses not to heal. The Apostle Paul talks about physical sufferings and difficulties in the Bible. In II Corinthians 12:7 Paul says that he was given a "thorn in the flesh" to keep him humble. He basically said, "It's as though the messenger of Satan uses it to beat me down, but I'm not going to be discouraged. I prayed to the Lord three times that it would depart from me."
After praying three times, God said to Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you; for my strength is made perfect in weakness." Instead of getting mad at God, Paul says in verse 9, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Paul saw Jesus face to face. He was sure of his salvation. He didn't doubt there was a Heaven and that he would have eternal life. This certainty led him to have no fear in standing up for his faith. He endured persecution, rejection, abuse and physical suffering because he knew that what he was preaching was true. He knew that people's lives could be changed if they would accept Christ.
The only hope of our world is God and salvation through Jesus Christ. People who think that this life is all there is and once they're dead they're dead, ...well they really have nothing to live for because the end result is laying in a pine box of nothingness forever. When you have the hope of eternal life, nothing can keep you down for long. A life in Heaven, free of pain and suffering is our blessed hope. It's what keeps us going.

OPEN HOUSE, OPEN HEART
Hebrews 13:2
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.Rarely do I leave a gathering of people without saying something I later regret. Sometimes when I intend to be humorous it backfires and my words aren't taken as funny. Sometimes when I try to clarify something, my questioning is met with defensiveness. Many times in my life I have wished that I could suck those words right back into my mouth I wish that no one would have heard what I said.
The thing about socializing is that we don't have time to analyze everything we're going to say. A conversation would become stale very quickly if we truly thought about every word and how our words might be perceived. So, of course, it is inevitable that on occasion something will slip out of our mouths that we wish we wouldn't have said. We wish that we would have chosen our words more carefully.
This was the case for me recently when I was making conversation with a woman who had moved into a new home. "You haven't been to our house yet," she said. I put on my best joking face and said, "I wasn't invited." The woman behind me quickly chided, "Oh just go. You don't have to be invited." We laughed and no one seemed hurt by my comment, but I felt uncomfortable after saying it. As if I was accusing this woman of not being hospitable. I had never invited her to my house either, so the same could be said about me.
As I drove home I wondered how true it was. In this day and age is it really true that we can "just go" anywhere without an invitation and expect to be welcomed there? Would I welcome someone who showed up on my doorstep unexpectedly? I thought about times past when people had dropped in without notice and to my shame I recalled feeling annoyed at times by unexpected company. But I shouldn't feel that way.
When I was a girl, my parents went visiting often. And I recall people dropping by to spend time chatting with my parents. Sometimes those conversations would be spoken in Pennsylvania Dutch and I would get mad because I couldn't understand what the adults were saying. I have many fond childhood memories of visiting other people's homes and having people visit our home. In fact, if I compared the amount of visiting I did as a child to the amount of visiting I do now, it would be embarrassing to report.
Why has this changed so much? Why aren't our homes open to visitors as they were years ago? And why do we so rarely invite guests into our homes? I believe the answer is because women's lives have changed. Women spend much of their time outside the home, either working or running their children to activities. When they finally do get home, they're exhausted and the thought of an unexpected guest can feel overwhelming.
The house is a mess. It's been a week since she went to the grocery store, so the pantry is empty. And having to socialize takes energy. After working 40 hours at her job and another 40 at home, cooking, cleaning, caring for kids, and running them here and there, the lady of the house is ready for a hot bath and a nap, not an unexpected guest. Hospitality is one more thing on the list. It's one thing that we can easily scratch off and not bother with.
But this is a wrong attitude according to the Bible, which has much to say about hospitality. There are many fine examples of hospitable women in the Bible. We often think of Mary and Martha as an example. Most of us know that story. But another great example is Rebekah. She is the first person that Abraham's servant meets when he travels across the desert to find a wife for Isaac. Rebekah meets him at the well and she is quick to give the man a drink. Then she goes a step further and offers to water his camels too. You might think that was an easy task, but it probably required fetching a hundred gallons or more.
Remember that she was doing all this for a total stranger. And Rebekah didn't stop there. She then invited the servant and his entourage to spend the night, which required even more work because you know those men were hungry. How many women today would take on that much work for someone they don't know? I would guess about zero. But according to the scripture above, we never know when that stranger might be an angel sent by God to test our hospitality.
I guess I have one more thing to add to my New Year's resolution list. I resolve to be more hospitable. I want to keep Rebekah in mind this year and pray that God will use me that way. I'll have to pray for her energy, but God can give me that. I want to make more of an effort to invite people into my home, and if a friend shows up unexpected, I will greet her with a sincere smile and let her know she's welcome. And just to be funny, I'll tell her how glad I am that she didn't come by camel.

GIRLS JUST WANT TO BE BOYS
"Your adornment must not be merely external–braiding the hair, and
wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden
person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet
spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:3-4).
How things have changed. When I was a girl, my friends and I weren't loud and rowdy. We didn't burp out loud and yell out random things that came to mind. We didn't throw our bodies around, crash into each other and fall on the ground, just to be silly and get a laugh. Those were things that boys did.
But today, girls act more like boys. They take no pride in being quiet or gentle. Today if a girl displays ladylike qualities, she's seen as being "prissy." Girls who act like ladies are called "girlie girls" and they're made fun of. Today's girls want to be tough, loud, obnoxious, rowdy, ungraceful and without manners. They take pride in being more boyish than girlish.
It's okay to be silly once in a while, but there's a price to pay when girls don't live up to the behavior that God expects from them. There's a price to pay when the goal is only to draw attention to yourself and show off. One day all that loud, silly, obnoxious behavior will come back to bite her. Someone might even end up getting hurt. And she will have only herself to blame.

There is a greater issue here and I believe it is this.
In order to establish the one world government prophecy tells us will form
under the Anti Christ, America has to be removed. I wrote about his in
Politics, Prophecy & the Supernatural. This will be accomplished by
removing the 2nd amendment and the government rounding up the guns, and then
collapsing the dollar, which will plunge the nation into chaos, something I
believe is desired for the control of the populace.
Our guns are the reason why we are free. Never forget this. There are some issues that are worth dying for and the 2nd amendment is one as the alternative is to be rounded up and carted away in trucks, like the Jews were during WWII.
In closing todays post: We have the right to bear arms. We have the right to defend ourselves. Guns do not kill people, nor do knives, golf clubs, candle sticks, forks, automobiles, pool cues and almost an infinite variety of implements! Take away the guns and the criminals will have a field day and the government can do what it pleases. The media have chosen to ignore the link between violent behavior and mind altering drugs. The reason for this is simple, their left-wing ideology prohibits them from reporting the truth as their goal is to disarm the American people.
Our country was founded on self-reliance. I live in a remote area, where if I call 911, it would take at least a half an hour to get someone here. My wife and I took a gun training class and we are armed. I’m not relying on our government to save me should someone bust into my house at 2 in the morning. As Alex Jones remarked to Morgan, you’re a hatchet man for the new world order!
Wake up people, Senator Feinstein of California is sending a bill on gun control to Congress. In my opinion this is an orchestrated attempt to abolish the 2nd amendment. Now is the time to stand up and be counted and let our government know, with the utmost certainty, that we will not, under any circumstances, relinquish our 2nd amendment rights! Period! HOT LEMON TEA AND A NAP
I've been sneezing and going through tissues all day. A runny nose always makes me tired. This site shares some great natural remedies and a three day juice fast that I might try if I have the willpower. First, I need a juicer.
The photos of lemon honey ginger tea under "feeling better remedies" (use search bar) has inspired me to put the kettle on the stove. I keep lemons in the freezer all year round, and I defrosted one today. After seeing this post, I'm glad I did. It's time for tea. Maybe a nap after that. Hubby and I are going antiquing tomorrow in Lewisburg. Gotta go, the kettle's whistling.

USE RAGS TO GAIN RICHES
I'm considering no longer buying paper towels. Way too expensive. According to the video in this article, I can save 170 dollars a year by using reusable cloth wipes instead. Sounds tempting.

I just made these granola bars and they are the best. Healthy ingredients and very easy to make. I love that they have Rice Krispies in them. Be sure to use mini chocolate chips to prevent crumbling when you cut these. The bigger chips cause the bars to separate. Be sure to press down hard when pressing these into a greased pan. I used peanut oil on the pan for extra flavor.
Let the bars cool before cutting. I put them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. I'll never buy granola bars again. These are too easy and too good. They are much better than store bought granola bars and their long list of scary ingredients. This recipe is a keeper!

Bouchons by Thomas Keller
Makes a small batch of about 8-10
Ingredients:
5 ounces unsalted room temperature butter
1/4 cup plus 1 1/2 T all purpose flour
1/2 C plus 2T unsweetened Cocoa powder
1/4 C plus 2 tsp Eggs (about 1 1/2 large eggs total)
1/8 tsp kosher salt
3/4 C plus 1 T granulated sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla paste ( I substituted 1/2 tsp vanilla)
1/2 Cup good quality Chocolate Chips
Powdered Sugar for dusting
Place the flour, sifted cocoa powder and salt in a bowl and whisk.
Combine the eggs, sugar, vanilla in a stand mixer and whisk on med- low speed, scrapping down sides and bottom of bowl. With the mixer running, alternating between the two, add the butter and flour in 3 additions. Then mix to combine well, scraping the bowl as necessary.
Remove bowl, fold in chips. Let sit in a cool spot ( not the refrigerator) for 2 hours. Batter can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to two days, but make sure to let sit at room temp for two hours before filling the molds.
Pre heat oven to 350F
Using a pastry bag or spoon, fill the molds, stopping just below the rims.
Bake for 12 minutes in a convection oven, or 16 minutes ins a standard oven. Remove mold from the oven and let stand 10 minutes(so that they will hold their shape), then unmold the bouchons on a cooling rack, turn right side up and let cool completely. Dust tops with powdered sugar.
Tips: He recommends using the convection setting on your oven, valrhona cocoa powder, a Pastry bag and a bouchon mold.

and melty, these double chocolate brownies, called "Bouchons" are named
because of their cork like shape. Bouchon means Cork in French.
