ON A HOMEMADE KICK

I just tried Lynn's recipe for homemade pudding. It's a winner!. I'm planning to try her other recipes for chocolate, lemon, butterscotch and coconut pudding.  I've been on a homemade kick lately. I go on Stumble Upon and type "homemade" in the interest box and all kinds of wonderful homemade things pop up. Homemade maple syrup is my next venture. Check out Lynn's blog below. You'll be inspired.

THE GRACIOUS PANTRY

This is the way I'd like to eat every day, but I haven't gotten there yet.  Although I have given up dairy, including ice cream. I didn't think I could do that. But giving up white flour and sugar is harder. I just made a batch of cinnamon rolls and I couldn't resist one. With all the baking I do for my family, I doubt that I'll ever be able to give up white flour and sugar. But I will try some of these recipes. This is a great food blog.

TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN...

Here's the latest blog I want to share.  At first I thought this girl was too flashy to be taken seriously.  But then I read some of her blog entries.  She's a beautiful girl, but she's also real.  She admits her faults and she has a concern for others.  Life is not all about her.  I especially love this blog about her decision to part with her wedding dress.  How often do we get caught up in the luxuries of the world and forget about the difference we could be making in the lives of others.  She's inspired me to do something for someone in need.  Take some time to explore this blog.  She's a photographer, so you'll see some beautiful photos.

PS.  Jennifer told me today through email that the dress is still available.  Several people were interested, but their interest fell through.  It is a beautiful dress for someone very petite.  Spread the word!

Ideas for Holiday Baking

Peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate and the original recipe for Fantasy Fudge that was on the back of jars of marshmallow creme.  These recipes sound yummy.  The only thing I would change is swapping real butter for margarine.  Margarine is too synthetic, fake and artery clogging.  Plus it doesn't melt in the sun, so what exactly is it?  Maybe a form of plastic?  At least butter is natural.

DON'T MISS THIS MOVIE: COURAGEOUS

This past weekend I saw the movie Courageous.  Cried like a baby for two hours straight.  I mean the tears wouldn't stop.  Toward the end, I was going back to my already-used tissues looking for dry spots.  Next time I'll stuff a whole box in my handbag.  This movie is so incredibly moving, so well done, so meaningful for our time.  If you haven't seen it, you are missing something.  And if you're a father you have to see it.

The first link below is a wonderful blog I discovered today after deciding that I wanted to give Courageous a big thumbs up on my blog.  I didn't come across Bits and Pieces by accident.  I was led to share it with you because I pray for such things. I pray to be led to fabulous blogs and websites that I can share.  Check it out.  The second link is the official website for the movie Courageous.

Annies Eats

Another great food blog to explore.  This blog reminded me that it's past time to make another batch of homemade vanilla for Christmas gift giving.  Thanks Annie for a great blog.
