Don't Be a Doormat for Someone Who Will Never Change

When someone hurts you and then refuses to admit what they did, you are not obligated to reconcile. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is walk away and leave the outcome to God. Jesus calls us to walk in wisdom and boundaries within our relationships.

Repentance is the doorway to reconciliation. Real repentance takes accountability and accepts correction. It doesn't demand trust, it works to rebuild it. Going back to that person who did you wrong requires more than just your forgiveness; it requires a visible change on their part. If you don't see a transformation, you don't owe them a second chance.

You can forgive someone completely and yet remain distant. They might accuse you of unforgiveness when you are actually having a response to trauma. There's a difference between holding a grudge and setting boundaries to protect your heart and your peace.
