TUMORS FOR BREAKFAST

Tim Tebow's 'Wife With a Servant's Heart' Remarks Misunderstood?
What's so terrible about serving others? Have we become so self-centered that we think serving others means being a doormat? God created woman and the first place he intended a woman to serve was as a wife. Genesis 2:18 tells us why God created woman: "And the Lord said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper fit for him."
The word "helper" suggests someone who is capable of thinking about her husband's needs. Women who can't do that don't make good wives and they often end up alone.One of the greatest ways for a woman to invest in a lasting marriage is to develop a servant's heart. This is the kind of woman that decent men look for because they know that marriage isn't easy. A man knows that his wife's attitude will either make his life peaceful or it will drive him crazy.
I was selfish in my first marriage and that marriage ended. I take part of the blame for that and I don't try to hide it. I know that I lacked a servant's heart and it hurt my marriage. As a speaker I advise women to get their minds off themselves and start thinking about their husband's needs and their children's needs. The amazing thing that often happens when they start doing that is that the whole family begins to change. When a man feels respected he's more likely to show love to his wife, which is exactly what she longs for. So a wife invests in her own happiness by serving her husband.
The words" serve" and "submit" are two words that are hated by feminists. What we need to ask is this: Do feminists have good marriages? Do they really know what they're talking about and can they prove that being selfish is what makes marriage work? I suspect that many feminists are single and many of them aren't happily married because it just doesn't work when a wife is all about herself. It goes against God's plan for her to be a "helper" to her husband and when you go against God's plan, your life becomes a great big mess. I say that from experience.

Is America The Most Materialistic Society In The History Of The World?

This past weekend my husband and I attended a wedding reception that was more like a class reunion. Two of our classmates from high school got married. Our graduating class of 1980 now includes many couples who married within our class. In fact, my husband and I are from the same graduating class of Upper Dauphin Area High School.
The conversations I had at Ben and Lisa's wedding reception were quite interesting. We talked about the economy, our high school years, Obamacare, the muslim religion, Lymes Disease...even Jesus was a topic of conversation. But I noticed that no one seemed to be talking about material things.
There was a time when conversations with my classmates had a more competitive nature. Everyone wanted to know who had made something of himself and who was living the good life of wealth and luxury. But we must have grown beyond all that because now people were talking about more important things, like staying healthy and spending time with family. It was as if we finally realized how unimportant material things really are.
My husband's friends were razzing him about his recent retirement at the young age of 50. They might have been a little jealous, but they have no idea what sacrifices were made to make that possible. I married someone who loves to save money even more than I do. And because of all those weekends we spent at home, the vacations we never took, and all those material things we wanted but never bought, we are now able to live on his retirement income. We have no debt and I only work part time doing things I love...teaching art and writing.
Instead of trying to accumulate material things, we made a life out of living simply without a lot of stuff. While everyone else was increasing their debt, we were working at getting out of debt. And now we're reaping the rewards.
When I look around I see so many people who bring unnecessary stress into their lives because they love to have stuff that they can show off to the neighbors. If they wouldn't have wasted all that money over the years they could probably have a simple house that's paid for. They wouldn't be dependent on others and they wouldn't be a slave to the debt they've accumulated.
To me success has nothing to do with how big your house is, how expensive your car is or how sharply dressed you are. Success is being smart with what you have and doing the most with what you've worked for. Success is having peace of mind and not being a slave to your stuff. Success is realizing that stuff can't make you happy and showing off your stuff brings little satisfaction. It's savoring simplicity and using the extra time it gives you to appreciate what really matters.

Big Brother Stocks Up on Ammo

The recent purchase of ammunition by several federal agencies has triggered a stir in the blogosphere that monitors government activity. First, the Department of Homeland Security ordered 450 million rounds of ammunition, then the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) submitted an order for 46,000 rounds, and the Social Security Administration placed an order for 174,000 rounds.
The Department of Homeland Security has made other big purchases of ammo. According to Major General Jerry Curry, USA (Ret.), earlier this year, the DHS ordered 750 million rounds of hollow-point ammunition. It then turned around and ordered an additional 750 million rounds of miscellaneous bullets, including some that are capable of penetrating walls.
Hollow points are designed to expand as they strike human flesh, causing maximum damage. Since these types of bullets are banned by the Hague Convention of 1899, Declaration III, the only logical target they can be used against is the citizenry of the United States.
There doesn't seem to be any plausible reason for this huge order of ammunition. It can’t be just for training; there aren’t that many weapons in the U.S. to fire it. In the war in Iraq, our military forces used about 70 million rounds per year. Right now, the DHS has enough ammunition to empty five rounds into the body of every living American citizen.
I'm amazed that no one in Congress is asking why the weather people would need to be so well armed. I had no idea it was so dangerous at the Social Security Administration. Since the folks at the U.S. Post Office face the greater threat from barking dogs, I'm surprised they haven't asked for an allotment of tactical nuclear warheads.

Governments serve a vital purpose, but they need to be kept in check. The lessons from the rise of despotic governments are much like the plots of numerous science fiction movies in which computers take over the world: If you don't have a firm grasp of the government's "off" switch, the government will come looking for your "off" switch.
I'm constantly seeing in alternative news media examples of people who've had their civil rights trampled on by the government. One of the most wild reports is the plight of Brandon Raub, a 26-year-old former Marine, pro-liberty activist, and Virginia resident. He was seized by the FBI and Secret Service agents over posts privately made via a Facebook game Raub was playing with his siblings. The goon squad couldn't think of anything to charge Raub with, so they had him committed to a mental hospital. A few days later, a judge ordered him released after a public outcry. The treatment of Raub was a travesty of justice, but the true outrage was the revelation that Big Brother is monitoring everything we do. The government seems to have totally lost sight of the original cause of the September 11 attacks. The trial for the five men charged in planning the murders of 2,976 people has been on hold for nearly a decade. Last week, the defense said it does not expect the "trial of the century" to start until 2016--fifteen years after the attacks. It will actually take less time to grow the trees used to print the legal documents in this trial.
A growing number of people realizes that America is turning into a Big Brother state. Lubbock County Judge Tom Head is warning that Mr. Obama winning a second term would lead to a revolt by the American people and possible invasion of United Nations troops. “He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the U.S. to the United Nations," the judge told a Fox News affiliate. “I’m thinking worst-case scenario,” Judge Head explained. “Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe…we’re not just talking a few riots or demonstrations.”
I doubt there are enough liberty-loving people in this country to stop a tyrannical grab for power. A huge factor in the lack of support is the number people who receive aid from Uncle Sam. Right now, there more than 110 million people in this nation are on some form of welfare. Most of these people don't care if chains are being placed on their hands and feet, just as long as their mouths can still reach the government teat.
The declining state of America reminds me of a recent journey I made to the JFK Airport after visiting New York City. After spending a few days on Manhattan Island, I left by taking the subway all the way to the airport. As I progressed towards JFK, the quality of the neighborhood steadily declined. At one point, there wasn't a building to be found that wasn't marred with graffiti. Even though my sense of danger was telling me I was headed in the wrong direct, my map told me I was headed in the right direction.
If America reaches a point where it is no longer the home of the free, we can rest assured that there is place where there is liberty. I will gladly take the kingdom of Heaven over the earthly kingdom we have now.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:4).

WHEN THE CLAWS COME OUT
A friend of mine said something today that set my mind whirling.
She said, "I've learned to be friends with women."
Why would that comment turn my wheels? Because I talk so much on this blog about how women have such a hard time getting along.
In fact, the most popular post on this site is about that very subject. My friend's comment made me realize that the way I respond to difficult women is just as important as how they treat me.
My first instinct is to avoid women who are unpleasant. Over the years I've experienced many situations where women made me uncomfortable. I'd start talking to them and within minutes I'd want to get up and walk away. From the things they said and the way they looked me up and down, I got the feeling that they were competing or trying to prove themselves.
The feeling probably began in about eighth grade and continued through high school and beyond. And now that I'm fifty, I've discovered that some women never stop being competitive. So my way of dealing with it is to avoid them completely.
But is this the right way to respond? The comment that my friend made about learning to be friends with every woman made me wonder if that's really possible. Can I learn how to rightly respond to women who have their claws out. Would my right response make a difference? Instead of avoiding them, should I be doing something else?
It's so much easier to avoid unpleasant people. It takes a lot of mental energy to deal with someone who doesn't like you. Feeling like you're constantly being attacked isn't a nice way to feel. Does God really blame me for wanting to walk away or would He prefer that I handle it differently?
The Bible has the answer for every problem, so I tried to recall verses that might address this issue. I thought of the verse that commands us to do good to those who persecute us and to pray for our enemies. Okay, so does that mean I can avoid a difficult woman as long as I pray for her? That's doing good, right?
Somehow, I think God expects more of me. He expects me to be an example. But how can I be a blessing to someone who curses me everytime I'm around her?
It took two days for me to figure out the answer to that question. I remembered a book I read a while ago that addressed this issue. The answer lies in staying focused on the reason why any woman would be mean to you. What are her motives? If you've done nothing to deserve the attacks, then the problem lies with her, and that's what you must focus on.
I shouldn't focus on my own hurt, I should focus on the hurt that's causing her to attack me. More often than not, the root of the problem is her own insecurities. When a woman feels threatened, her claws come out. When she feels envious, her claws come out. When she feels like she doesn't measure up to what the world expects, the claws come out. Everything in me wants to fight back or just avoid her completely, but that's not helping her overcome her insecurities.
God expects women to encourage each other, build each other up, and love one another. By avoiding difficult women, I'm not loving them. The better thing would be to find a way to help her see her own strengths. Give her a sincere compliment. Point out something she does well. Every time she gets a jab in, I could challenge myself to encourage her with a response that builds up her self image. It wouldn't take long for her to realize that I'm not someone she should dislike.
Now that I figured out the answer, it's time to put it into action. It won't be easy, but I'm going to try. I truly believe that God rewards us for things like this. Whenever we do the more difficult thing, but the right thing, we get rewarded. God makes our effort worth it.

WOMEN WASTING TIME
Women keep bringing up the subject, so I keep posting. This subject, competitive women, has become a pet peeve of mine. I think competing is the biggest time waster that women take part in. What do they get out of it? Yet every week I come across a woman who obviously strives to be better than the woman next to her. So sad that she can't relax and step out of the competition.

The only thing I would change about that quote at the end of the article is to say the nation can't survive because of the people that lead it. The video below is a little dramatic but very informative. What he talks about is not the mark of the beast, but it's preparing children for the future. Children are being trained to think that having their hands scanned for food is normal. This is a big step toward a world that isn't far off. It's a world that the Bible talks about where you have to have a mark on your hand to buy anything.

WHAT I'D SAY TO A SNOW QUEEN
I used to be one of them...those try-to-be-perfect women. I exercised like a maniac to stay a size four. I applied make-up with thoughtful precision. Never would I let myself be anything but perfect. I thought that's the way women needed to be. If I wasn't perfect, I wasn't deserving of anything, not even love.
I guess it was getting older that brought me to my senses. Slowly I climbed over that wall of perfection I had in front of me and began to relax. Now and then I dared to show my flaws, admit my insecurities, and be real instead of perfect. I became better at apologizing, which is impossible for the try-to-be perfects.
Women responded differently to the new imperfect me. They laughed with me, opened up their hearts to me, and felt more comfortable around me. I had taken off my tiara and suddenly I was approachable. I went from being a snow queen to being someone women could relate to.
Sadly, I see many snow queens around me still. Women who can't let themselves be anything but perfect. They are too proud to admit their lives aren't perfect. Too proud to admit their husbands aren't perfect. Too proud to admit their children aren't perfect They have to keep everyone fooled. The fairy tale must continue.
What would I say to a snow queen? I'd say this: You're wearing yourself out with all this pretending. You're playing a part you're not getting paid for. Let the world see the real imperfect you. The rewards for that are much greater than what you'll get from wearing the tiara.
Nobody likes a snow queen. Snow queens are lonely because the icy wall of perfection keeps people away. People appreciate vulnerability. They have compassion for women who faulter at times. But they can't relate to someone who won't let her life look messy. You're not fooling anyone anyway. People know your life isn't perfect. Why not let yourself be real and see the difference it makes.

Will we say, "Charlie was right?"
This article was posted Thursday, but I hesitated to share it because it sounds so earth shattering. Several times in this article and in the video Charlie says, "You are under attack." I thought that would turn people off and they wouldn't read or listen any further. But I decided today to post it anyway and let you decide for yourself. It all sounds like crazy panic, but Charlie understands things that go on behind the scenes. He's a frequent commentator on RT so he's seen as an expert by alternative news that offers unbiased information.
I think we just don't realize the complexity and the severity of what's happening. Either we don't want to know, we don't care, or we just refuse to believe the truth. We look at a guy like Charlie and think he's nuts. But I have a feeling this guy knows exactly what he's talking about and I sense that he speaks the truth. Sometimes the truth is really hard to accept. Will we look back some day soon and say, "Charlie was right?"
