You will not get through life without encountering a gaslighter. People who gaslight will deny any responsibility for their actions. They will tell you that you are too sensitive and too emotional, and they will make you question your own reality, memory or perceptions.

A gaslighter will make you feel like you are making a big deal out of nothing. Don't allow yourself to be controlled and manipulated by a gaslighter. This is an intentional form of emotional abuse. The gaslighter knows exactly what they are doing, and you standing up to their evil tactics is the only way to defeat them.

He wants to give us a knowing that life is under His control. But because we don't trust Him to meet those needs, we find our own way of meeting those needs. 

Women idolize their marriages, their husbands and their careers. They go to Facebook, food, shopping and friends for comfort. Women look for security and approval in people instead of in God. She makes her job her identity and the place where she feels important. Don't run to people and things to find your purpose, joy, identity, comfort or healing. Run to God.

This book, Satisfied, has inspired my next You Tube video, which I titled, "Nine Idols Women Chase." The things that we love and think about more than God can become idols in our lives. I hesitated posting this, but if this reaches just one person who has been pushed to a point of not wanting to live anymore, then maybe a life can be saved. Her story will give you hope. We live in a culture that prioritizes not offending people. The Bible tells us that we should confront people who wrong us and we should speak out against any kind of evil that comes for our children, our schools, our families and our nation. 

The darkness in our world is becoming darker and bolder. We are living in the days talked about in the Bible when evil will be perceived as good and good will be perceived as evil. Since Covid, the persecution of Christians and Jews has wickedly increased. Do you not see the spiritual battle that is happening right before our eyes? 

God has to be looking down and wondering, "Where are my people who are willing to boldly stand up and speak out against every wrong?" We have way too many evil people in positions of authority making evil decisions while good people suffer. Will that change if you remain silent? When you make people more significant to your goals and dreams than they actually are, you give them power. Don't let people put doubt in your mind and steal your peace and confidence. Don't give power to the negative and toxic opinions of people. 

Only God knows what He put inside of you and people don't get to comment on that. Be confident about the direction God is leading you in, and disqualify every voice that rises against you. Refuse to internalize their words and don't engage them in their toxic rants. 

Haters expose themselves when they speak negativity into the things you are setting out to do. You must disqualify their opinions from your life. Don't let them steal your focus and get you off track.

Stand still and watch God move on your behalf. Don't let fear cause you to make a decision that you will regret. Keep your heart right. A faithful man will always abound in the blessings of the Lord. God will prove to you that He will never leave you disappointed.

Discouragement and disappointment can sap your strength and bring even more defeat into your life. If you find yourself in a battle for way too long, you are in dangerous place.  A discouraged soul no longer has  connection to God. And it is a terrible time to make major decisions when you are feeling discouraged. 

God wants to remove the discouragement and fill you with courage and strength. Don't yield to discouragement. Don't compromise and take steps backwards in your spiritual journey. 

Watch the video. Your soul and spirit is more important than your next step. You need to fill your soul before taking another step. Be still and get reconnected to God. Rely on Him as the source of your strength.

If you are experiencing a lack of resources, you must trust in the Lord to unlock the resources you need. He can do this in amazing ways, and when you see Him come through for you, your faith will grow. 

God can send angels on your behalf. He can set in motion a wealth transfer. He can send people to help you. He can lead you to organizations, churches, groups, or businesses that will supply your needs. 

Pray and trust. God remembers you every second of every day. "Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you." That is God's promise to you. Go to Him.

The church has fallen away from its original divine blueprint. Dying churches are impacting no one. We need to wake up and use our voices to positively impact our circle of influence for the kingdom of God. Our nation was founded to be a missionary nation.

People are beginning to realize that fame, fortune and gathering material things leads to a life of emptiness, loneliness and discontent. The very best human experience can only be had when we open our hearts to what our hearts are longing for--the love and power of God. Let Shonda encourage you to let go of everything fake, phony and unsatisfying and grab onto something better.

I don't know why it took so long for me to look it up. In the dream, the number was mentioned as a time on the clock. I guess that's why I didn't pursue looking up the meaning of 530 right away. 

You might also be experiencing seeing 11:11 on a digital clock. This is a global phenomenon that you might want to look into. God does speak through numbers, and he wants us to pay attention. 

You’re called to be a “HIGH FLYER”!

Are you feeling frustrated, like you are not reaching your full potential? Do you feel like you are called to do more and be more? If you are not making yourself available to be used by God, you will feel a discontent in your spirit. 

In this video, Shannon Wells says that part of our calling as children of God is to elevate so we can see things from God's perspective. 

A spiritually mature person will make God her source for everything. If you are looking around and comparing yourself to others and competing with other people, then you are thinking too low. We must transform our thinking and look to God for revelation in every situation. 

1. You are called to exist in power and dominion.

Your power is the ability you have. You have the ability to do the same things that Jesus did when He walked on earth. The Bible tells us that we have the power to take authority over everything and everyone that comes against us. Luke 10:17-19 tells us that we have the power to trample on "serpents and scorpions," which is a metaphor for the works of the devil. So we have the power to call down every wicked scheme that comes against us and the people we love. 

2. You are called to take advantage of every moment for the goodness of God and His glory.

As a representative of Jesus Christ, you should constantly watch for divine opportunities and jump on them quickly. God will carefully craft an opportunity that matches you specifically. So ask God to open your eyes to opportunities sent by Him. A conversation with someone at the grocery store could be a divine connection that leads to a life-changing opportunity. 

We must look carefully at everything and everyone that comes into our lives. God will even use non-Christians to bless you, so be wise and careful as you interact with the secular world. But be careful not to waste your time and attention on things that will not give God glory. 

3. You should fly with other high flyers and receive wisdom from them.

We are told in Matthew 7:15-17 that we will know people by their fruit. Healthy trees bear good fruit and rotten trees bear rotten fruit. We must always ask ourselves if we should be yolking ourselves with the people we spend time with. What is our discernment telling us about their intentions and their motives? Our discernment will increase as we get into the word of God, renewing our minds and learning what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

Every situation in your life can be changed by your words. God has given power and authority to our words. We can speak blessings, breakthrough, healing and prosperity into our lives. We have more power and authority than we realize over everything that we deal with. We can curse our lives by complaining and speaking negative destructive words. God's hedge of protection falls off people who are chronic complainers. What you speak is what your life will be. 

WHY DO YOU FEEL SO EMPTY?

This is why you will always feel that something is missing if you are not in daily relationship with God. All these things will still leave an emptiness in your soul at the end of the day. God will fill your heart and soul like nothing else can when you include Him in every part of your life and every hour of your day.

END TIMES SPIRITUAL WARFARE

The people who are coming against you could be operating through unclean spirits. The Bible warns us of spiritual wickedness in high places, and I have never before seen so much evidence of this wickedness all around me. This darkness is in our government, our medical system, our schools, the workplace, and even in the church. There is wickedness in every area of influence, and we must learn how to fight this evil in a biblical way. 

We must be led by the spirit of God in order to live successfully in these end times. We must know the spiritual authority that's been given to us, and we must enforce that authority over the things that come against us. Speak and pray the word of God. Words are spiritual and powerful. We must speak Life, Healing and Victory. Control and confront everything and everyone that is coming against you. Speak life over every situation. Declare what you want to see in your life. 

This is the best explanation of spiritual warfare that I have heard in a long time. Everything she says is backed up by scripture. Take the 30 minutes if you've been feeling like a punching bag.

WHO'S CARRYING YOUR BURDEN?

In high school, I spent many lunch breaks studying instead of eating. And I was starved by the time I got home. We can feel starved of more than just food. Sometimes the emptiness we feel is a longing for close supportive relationships with people who have our backs.

While clearing out a box of papers in the basement, I came across a four-inch stack of writings from many years ago. Today, I spent a good hour going through those thoughts on all kinds of topics. What memories it brought back. 

Although I'm taking a break from blogging to pursue other interests, I felt the need to share one particular short piece that I wrote back in 2007. I'm sharing it because I recently joined a small group study at LCBC church, and the topic relates to that decision. 

I've been part of the group for only two weeks, but already I feel that it is exactly what I've been craving for the past three years. I'm hoping that sharing this will inspire women to step out in faith and gather with one another in their homes or churches because we need the support of other women so we don't feel so alone in our burdens. It could be exactly what you need right now. 

Below is the entry I wrote 17 years ago:

Something was missing. I couldn't put my finger on it. My emotional and spiritual needs weren't being met. Although I was close to God, went to church, had a satisfying marriage and two great kids, an emptiness haunted me. 

I longed to be part of something... to share my faith more intimately with other believers. Perhaps the ladies bible study in Lykens was the answer. According to the newspaper, they would meet on Thursdays. So I called the number and planned to go. 

For me to step out of my comfort zone and meet with a group of strangers took a great deal of courage. I'm not a social butterfly, but these women made me feel instantly welcome. They truly had a heart for Jesus and a kindness that made me want to return. I told them the first night that they were a breath of fresh air for me, a stay-at-home wife and mother who rarely got out of the house. 

After eight weeks of enjoying the company of these gracious women, I didn't want it to end. My enthusiasm for the group to continue through summer led to an invitation. "Would you like to be a Bible study coordinator for our women's connection?" Before saying yes, I felt amazed what can happen when you step out of your comfort zone and faithfully go where God is calling you. 

Is God calling you to join a Bible study? Perhaps he's calling you to guide one. Don't ignore that inner longing. If sitting in a pew for an hour once a week is your only spiritual nourishment, then you're probably starving as I was. Large groups of people who know little about you can't satisfy your need to be known and cared for. 

We need consistent contact with people who really know us and who care about our well-being. "Carry each other's burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." The Bible suggests that we meet regularly with a small group of other believers. Small groups allow us to get to know each other, and wonderful things happen when believers gather. 

Now I'm guiding a bible study, and a wonderful thing happened last week when the women in our group shared the most amazing stories of how God revealed himself to them and helped them. One woman shared how she had lost her son in a store and after searching everywhere inside the building she frantically ran outside and saw her precious little boy being led back into the store by a stranger, one of God's angels assigned to protect her family. 

From finding a lost wallet to discovering a special book lying along the road, these women were bursting with testimonies of God's daily love and guidance. I left that night feeling so uplifted and inspired. And none of that would have happened if I hadn't stepped out of my comfort zone and attended that first bible study where God was nudging me to go. 

Who's carrying your burden? God created us to need being around people and to be part of a community. What invitation have you come across that you should say "yes" to? 

 

LET IT GO AND TRUST THE OUTCOME

Not a flattering photo, but sometimes life just isn't fun. I'm learning that there is a right way to handle disappointment. 

Are you dealing with a disappointment right now? Does an unresolved issue keep coming to your mind? Do you have conversations with yourself about your troubles? And are you wondering why God doesn't do something about it?

This morning, before we went to church, a subject for a future post came to my mind. I wrote on a post-it note "how to hand problems over to God and have peace." And I placed that note on my laptop. 

Then I asked Him to lead me to teachings that would help me write about that subject. Well guess what the sermon was about this morning--What to do when you don't know how to handle disappointment. Once again, I was amazed by the God that I serve and the way He answers prayers and guides my mind. 

Our hurts, our longings and our disappointments can be a source of distraction, anxiety, exhaustion and depression. Who hasn't dealt with a troubling problem and the disappointment of seeing no resolution. When God doesn't answer our prayers about something important, what is the right thing to do. How do we best handle it? 

I've had my share of disappointments in life, as I'm sure you have. And I have made a lot of mistakes in the way that I handled those troubles. I'm still making those mistakes, but I'm learning to handle my hurts in a better way. 

I don't recall getting mad at God for my disappointments, but some people do go that route. And it's not a wise decision because He can best get you through it. I'm still waiting for healing of a chronic sleep issue after 17 years. My prayers and closeness to God are what gets me through each night and the tired days. Where would I be if I allowed the problem to distance me from the source of my strength? 

I can't recall blaming God for a problem, but one mistake I have made is trying to fix things myself. God wants us to lay our problems at His feet and then trust Him with the outcome. But our human nature wants to take control and manipulate the outcome. We don't want to wait for answers. We are impatient. Instead of allowing God the time He needs to bring peace to the situation, we take the wheel.

When people are hurting or disappointed, they want their feelings validated. They want understanding for their hurts. They want solutions. They want apologies. They want someone to acknowledge the wrong that was done to them.  

But I can't convict a person's heart. Only God can do that. I can't be a problem solver without the Way Maker. In other words, the problem is not mine to fix. Yes, I can address the problem. I can plead my case to those involved. But once I do that, I need to step back, pour my heart out to God and let it in His hands. That is what I'm learning right now.

My hands need to be open. I have to let it go. My open hands represent my willingness to give the hurt to God and then accept His answers in His timing. If I hold onto that problem with a tight fist, I will end up even more disappointed. 

The question I've been pondering lately is... How do I have peace while I wait for the problem to change? The answer came to me in this morning's sermon--I must believe that God can fix it, but also accept that He might not. I do believe that God can fix anything, but sometimes He chooses not to give us the things we pray for. And we have to trust His reasons. 

We often don't see the reasons for our sufferings until years later when we look back on that situation and realize how God really was working on our behalf. We can see how He got us through it, and we can better understand why it worked out the way it did and why it took so long. God is operating from an all-knowing perspective. Our human minds don't have His divine wisdom in every situation. 

"For we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose" 

That scripture, Romans 8:28, is the answer to our disappointments, all our problems, all our frustrations, and our unmet longings. When you're hurting, you have to hang onto something. So keep repeating that scripture and believe that God is working it out for your good. 

Faith is powerful. Frustration is not. 

LIFE'S BEST ADVENTURES ARE NOT IN THE COMFORT ZONE

This position is out of my comfort zone today. But in the seventies, gymnastics shows during half-time at basketball games were some of the most fun times in high school. I made new friends, and I pushed through the fear of solo performance. 

 Have you ever stepped out of your comfort zone and tried something new, maybe something you were afraid to do, and then found the experience to be frustrating? This is where I find myself right now. But I don't want to discourage anyone from trying something new because good things always come from pushing through your fears and trying something different. 

For years, I tossed around the idea of making videos, rather than just writing posts. But I didn't feel confident about it, so I didn't try it. This summer I managed to push through all my doubts and fears and I recorded some videos on my phone. They started out as cooking and baking videos and then I did a series of videos titled, Detox Your Home. 

I posted about eight videos on my blog, and everything seemed to be moving along fine until I wasn't able to post the link to my last video. Then I discovered that all the prior videos I had posted were no longer there. I believe the problem is that the overall content on my blog is not suitable to Google's guidelines. In fact, they told me so.

So my videos on this blog are no longer accessible. I posted all but one on Instagram, and those are still there, except for one, which was too long for Instagram, so that one is lost. 

So at this point, if you want to watch the other seven videos, you will have to follow me on Instagram. They are there for now anyway. 

I don't regret making the videos. I learned that I do have the confidence to stand in front of a camera and share things. And it was fun to see new people follow me on Instagram because of those videos. Liam Neeson, the actor was the most shocking follower. Maybe he wants to detox his home, I don't know, but I got a kick out of that. 

So if there's something new you've been thinking of trying, I want to encourage you to go for it. Yes, there is a chance you will fail and there is a chance that the experience will be disappointing, but something good will come of it, I promise. 

Maybe you will meet someone that you would not have met if you hadn't stepped out and tried this new thing. Maybe an opportunity will come your way that would not have come if you had let fear stop you. Maybe you will learn something valuable. Maybe you will build confidence that you can use to pursue future goals. Something positive always happens when you step out of your comfort zone and try something new. 

So whatever it is that you've been pondering trying. Take a step toward it, and see where it takes you. Life is so much more rewarding and adventurous when you venture out of your comfort zone.
